Administration protects your company from Creditors taking action against it and provides breathing space to assess options available to your business. Administrators of the Company can continue to trade the business, potentially protecting employees' jobs, whilst looking for buyers or investors.

In the right circumstances, it is quick and easy to appoint Administrators and this gives the best chance of saving the company in some shape or form. There are many examples of when Administration may be more appropriate than liquidation. For example, if a certain part of your business is loss making, but the rest of it is profitable, the Administrators can assist with the re-organisation of the loss making parts to leave a profitable business.

You may also have heard the terms "pre-pack" in connection with Administrations, either in the Press or on television. Pre-pack Administrations have been well publicised of late and are subject to much public scrutiny. As a result, Pre-packs are only available to companies in certain situations.
