There are a few options all known as voluntary arrangements - there is an IVA or (Individual Voluntary Arrangement (which is for individuals) or a PVA (Partnership Voluntary Arrangement) for those with a business which is a partnership and not a limited company - both work in a similar way - for further information on PVA's please contact a member of our team. You need to know that an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) is a formal, legally binding arrangement or proposal which is put to creditors to pay all or part of your debts. If you think about this as being a contract that both you and your creditors (people you owe money to) must agree to for it to work - once an IVA is in place your creditors cannot chase you for payment of the unsecured debts.
